Earlier this year, Microsoft began a massive overhaul of its Windows operating system, moving it from an on-going, multi-month process to a fixed release, every 2 years. The first Windows 7 was released in 2009, the second in 2012, the third in 2015, and the fourth in 2018. Microsoft is now preparing to launch the next Windows release, which is codenamed “Windows 11”.
Last year, Microsoft launched its new operating system: Windows 10. Although the new software was released in the form of a free upgrade for consumers, the company has yet to announce when it will be available for businesses and the general public. There are currently over one billion Windows 10 devices in use, so it’s likely we’ll see the next version arrive for most Windows users in the near future.
Microsoft is expected to release a major upgrade to Windows 10 next year, and the company has repeatedly stated that the new operating system will be called Windows 11. Microsoft is also expected to release a major upgrade to Microsoft Office, but it’s not called 11, as far as we know. We have to wait until early 2019 to find out what Microsoft will do with Office.. - Many believe the tech company is subtly hinting at each of its moves, and all signs point to an October release.

- Others believe October could be the launch date for Microsoft’s new Surface devices, not Windows 11.

Microsoft alludes to a new operating system to be launched in October 2021
Microsoft is constantly promoting its new operating system, while dropping a few hints for those with a keen eye to spot them.
It looks like the company is still specifying an October release date for its new flagship operating system, as it repeatedly did at last week’s Windows event.
Note that only once has Microsoft officially mentioned that a holiday has been chosen for the Windows 11 launch party.
However, the company’s official marketing campaign strongly suggests that the date is set for the 20th. October.
Tom Warren of The Verge shared a screenshot of the desktop of Panos Panay, the head of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices division. Here we see an edict that reveals all.
This message comes from Stevie Batich, one of the chief engineers for Microsoft Surface devices, and it reads as follows:
I can’t wait until October!
There are so many rumors these days that it’s hard to know what’s really true. Some say October will be the release date for Windows 11, while others think it will be for the new Surface devices.
Another interesting marketing gimmick that has given rise to all this speculation is that most of Microsoft’s press images for Windows 11 carry the date of the 20th. October in the taskbar next to the time, which is set to 11:11.
The question before us is this: Is Microsoft leading us down the wrong path or is this really good advice from the company?
Time will tell, but we’ll just have to wait for the first Windows 11 Insider releases to further test the new operating system.
