Last week, we announced the release of the Windows 10 April 2018 Update for PCs and tablets. In the same blog post, we also announced that version 1809 would break the Web and app download capability of the Edge browser for some users, and so we decided to take action. Starting today, Edge will no longer work for those users, and we will continue working to fix this issue. Until we have an update for our customers, you can still use the version 17134.105 of Edge to download and install the browser. And we’ll continue to keep you posted on any updates.
Microsoft released the newest version of its Edge browser for Windows 10, bringing with it a slew of new features and improvements. But not all users are able to upgrade to Microsoft Edge, as some devices are not able to. We will go through a small fix, which should work for most of you. If not, you will have to wait until Microsoft releases an official update.
It’s been about a month since Microsoft pretty much killed the company’s flagship browser, Internet Explorer, in favor of the cleaner, faster, and more popular Edge. It’s also been a month since Microsoft decided to stop supporting IE 11 in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, which means you can’t use it anymore on the new operating system. As I was writing my latest article, I ran into a weird problem that Microsoft didn’t say anything about. It seems some people are having trouble downloading the Edge browser.

Microsoft Edge download button does not work
One user’s accusations against the latest software he recently added to his computer go a little further than a malfunctioning Edge download button. After installing the latest update for Microsoft Edge, he said he noticed abnormal behavior while using his laptop. Another more experienced user advised me to download Edge from Google Chrome or another similar browser. Even this solution did not help, as the problem remained and the advice he received did not help him solve the problem. I can’t uninstall Edge, and when I open the Edge download in Chrome and go to the Edge website, it says Launch Edge on Windows 10. And it’s clear that Edge won’t be on the market.
How can I solve this problem?
The obvious solution to this problem would be to completely uninstall Edge and try to reload it. If you find yourself in a situation like the above, where you can’t remove your browser the traditional way, you can always download an uninstaller and try to remove it that way. If that doesn’t help either, you can reinstall Windows and fix the problem. Have you encountered similar problems? If so, how did you manage to fix it? Let us know your comments in the section below. How do I fix Microsoft edge not downloading files?
Microsoft Edge, the browser that’s supposed to replace Internet Explorer, is causing a world of pain for many Windows 10 computer users. While the program has gotten better over time, many Windows 10 users are experiencing trouble after the latest update. Users are reporting that when they open the Edge browser, it won’t load, and instead keeps telling them to try again. This problem is especially common on Windows 10 Mobile. I recently started using Microsoft Edge for some browsing, and it seemed to be working fine. But then, I did a Windows update and suddenly, I couldn’t click any links. I tried closing Edge, restarting my computer, and nothing worked. I tried to fix it by rebooting, and I couldn’t even do that. So, I decided to uninstall Microsoft Edge. But, when I did, it restarted my computer, and Edge, and I couldn’t get it back. So, I searched for a solution. I read a lot of articles from different websites, and I tried a lot of manual solutions. But nothing worked. In the end, I decided to restore my computer from a backup. After that, everything was back
Is there a problem with Microsoft Edge?
If you have updated to the recent Windows 10 Insider build (version 18237) and downloaded the latest build of Microsoft Edge browser, and if you are using Windows 10 spring update version 1803, you may have encountered a weird issue. You may have tried to run a browser and it will get stuck at initial screen and not open. The issue is not with the build itself because it is relatively stable on most systems, but appears to be due to a bug in the Edge browser. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and noticed a couple of issues. One of these issues is that users often complain that they can’t install Edge. Some of them have even gotten the “Your PC has stopped responding” dialog. My setup is similar to the average Windows 10 user, so I decided to install Edge and see what happens.
Why has Microsoft Edge stopped working?
Edge, Microsoft’s new web browser, has apparently stopped working for many users today. The software, released back in 2016, has received rare stability updates and is designed to provide a more exciting browsing experience—complete with features like reading mode and a dark theme. Microsoft has been incredibly consistent when it comes to making updates to Windows 10, and while they have not been flawless, they have been generally very predictable. Every six to twelve months, Microsoft releases a new update for Windows 10 that includes bug fixes and security patches, alongside new features. The latest update, Windows 10 version 1809, arrived in October of 2018, and was received by many users with a largely positive reception. But as you might have heard, some users are experiencing a problem with the latest update, which causes Edge to stop working in some cases.
